Now that Halloween is over, the girls have jumped full swing into preparing for our next holiday. Behold our newly decorated basement door:
I have a particular fondness for Julia's two freestyle drawings:
I think that every Thanksgiving table should have place mats that say "Happy Thanksgiving Cornicopia."
Madeleine drew her own freestyle drawing and taped it to the entrance to the garage:
I like to think of this one as "Happy Thanksgiving Turkey by a Barn."
Knowing that Madeleine possesses the ability to draw with such great detail, I have to assume that she just got lazy on this one though:
Or maybe she is attempting to depict that deadly poisonous fumes coming out of the Pilgrim's "gift" of food to the Native American.
At any rate, Madeleine has done a bit of decorating in our new house as well, as she christened it with voluminous puddles of vomit yesterday. The latest victim to fall prey to our household stomach bug, Madeleine spent the past day bundled up, resting. She is feeling much better today, though I kept her home from school just to be on the safe side. She has spent a good part of the day playing in her bedroom, although she also stumbled upon her (previously packed) National Geographic Kids magazine, and was compelled to tell Ethan and I all about the animals:
Let's hope that Madeleine's fake barfing sounds on the video are the last barfing sounds we will have to face this week!
