Julia's Writing Journal

Julia's kindergarten class started a new writing project in April, compiling a Weekly Writing Journal that spanned the entire month.  Now that they have moved onto their May journals, the kids were allowed to take home their April writing journals to share with their families.

Julia has had all sorts of things to write about, including this weekend's upcoming holiday:

This entry, written just after American Easter weekend, explains why Julia was not sellibrating Estr along with the rest of the Estr-sellibraters in her class.  But lucky for her, this weekend it is finally Estr for we Grck Orthrdocks folks.  I especially like Julia's double entendre of labeling the sun in the sky as the Son.  HEAVY symbolism there, Julia.  I like it.

Sometimes Julia writes about new accomplishments, like her brand new ability on the playground:

She truly is *so* proud of her new muky boar skills.  Going into kindergarten, she openly stated that she hoped to learn to do the muky boars during this school year.  She has been so excited about the muky boars lately that she now needs to take a break from them because the calluses and blisters on her palms from repeated muky boaring are hurting her too much to get a firm grasp.

Muky boars.

Julia admitted that "sometimes it's hard, because, like, I don't REALLY have anything to WRITE about, so I just have to write SOMETHING."

I'm guessing this was done on one of those days:

However, after our vacation, Julia had plenty of material for her journal writing:

While we actually went to the Georgia Aquaryum, not the Atlantic Aquaryum, the rest of this journal entry is spot-on.  Turns out Julia actually did decide to write about something other than watching "Hocus Pocus" on vacation.  And WOW, take a look at that expert drawing.  Does that bullga whall look EXACTLY like the real deal or WHAT?

Can you even tell it apart from this?

Bullga whall

Julia also journaled about our trip to the Zoo Atlanta:

She pretty much nailed it here.  The snacks were among the most interesting things we saw at the zoo, particularly because this was the first time we had actually gone into the Reptile exhibit.

Snack.

Of course, now that it's May, we get to sellibrate Grck Orthrdocks Estr, so Julia has turned her artistic skills away from pictures and towards helping me decorate Estr cookies:

Happy Estr to any of you fellow Grck Orthrdocks blog-readers!
