No One Is In My Way: Scene 2

Julia and I filmed the next scene in her movie last night; in this scene, Vylie (Julia) arrives home from school to tell her mother (me) all about her bad day.  And, MAN, does she have some valid reasons for why it was so bad:

I thought we pulled that scene off pretty well.  I mean, wow, who knew I had such serious improv acting chops?  Apparently Julia didn't share my feeling of triumph.

ME: Hey, Julia, I thought we did that pretty well, don't you think?
JULIA: What do you mean?
ME: Well, we didn't mess up at all or have any distractions or anything going wrong while we were filming.
JULIA: Well...you DID forget to say your LINE.
ME: What line?
JULIA: Remember?  You were supposed to say "What's the MATTER?"  It's the LINE I wrote for you?

The line Julia is referring to is this one:

Julia wrote out her script, line by line, character by character, on piece of scrap paper after piece of scrap paper, and put all of these papers into her "Muve Things" folder.

All I had to do was say one little line.  "What is the matter?"  Seriously, how hard is that?

I blew it.

Let's hope the other actors step up and do it right.  As you can see, Julia has put a LOT of thought and organization into this whole production:

(FYI, "VNR," according to Julia, is the name of the company that's making her movie.)

At least no one can accuse her of putting only a half-hearted effort into this whole ordeal...

  1. I THOUGHT YOU DID SO WELL COURTNEY!! You even threw your own name in there! And you said "what went wrong" - isn't that close enough to "what's the matter?"? I think we need Auntie Shannon to teach Julia the value of improvisation.... "I THINK SHE'S A WASP" worked out really well!

I also loved how well you portrayed roles of both actor and director - not an easy thing to pull off.

This scene definitely went much more smoothly than the first!
