So, I mentioned a few posts ago that the girls are full-swing into Christmas mode. Little did I know how full-swing it was really going to be. We have already put up our tree and hung ornaments, but apparently the ornaments we have just aren't quite enough, because the kids decided to take it upon themselves to make some new ones. I only discovered this today, upon seeing some unfamiliar creations hanging from the tree.
There's this lovely one, made with paper attached to a hair elastic:
And then there's this fine piece of white paper that is literally TAPED to a tree branch:
Why did we even hang store-bought ornaments in the first place, with masterpieces like those shown above? We should have just decorated the whole tree with white pieces of paper, cut and scrunched into various shapes! Feel free to contact my daughters for their expertise on a DIY Christmas decoration if you want in.
Meanwhile, it is only the first of December and we already have this many presents underneath our tree:
These are home-made gifts that the girls put together, wrapped, and labelled. There are sweetly labelled gifts from Julia such as this one:
As well as gifts marked by Madeleine:
If we keep up at this rate, I can't even IMAGINE how many presents will be under our tree in the next 24 days. I don't think there's even going to be room for Santa to fit anything by then!
Luckily, the Christmas spirit comes in handy around our household, especially when it comes to defeating evil nemeses:
MADELEINE: Mama! Me and Ginny defeated Voldemort with CHRISTMAS JOY!
Take that, Voldemort! You don't stand a CHANCE against Christmas Joy!!
Happy 25 days 'til Christmas, folks!
Oh boy Courtney. Well I guess it's good because if they keep breaking the store-bought ornaments at the rate they're going you're going to need the homemade ones to fill out the tree!
