You can take the kid out of school...for weeks, and weeks, and weeks...but you can't take the school out of the kid.
After making herself a spinach salad:
JULIA: Does the spinach smell weird to you?
ME: (sniffing) No.
JULIA: Okay. Because I was checking the DUE DATE, and it said March 31.
I guess we are delinquent in not returning our spinach by its due date.
And another update in the ever present weirdness in our household members: Madeleine, in addition to exclamining "MREER!" anytime a character on tv utters a bad word, has now taken to holding her nose in scenes in which a character smokes. So that she can't smell it coming from the tv set?!? Who knows with that kid.
